About the studio
Sellentrake exists because we wanted to see how good a single free card game could be if nobody was asked to pay for anything.
Who we are
Sellentrake began as a side project between a handful of people who had spent years building software that quietly asked for money at every turn. We wanted the opposite: a game that opens, plays, and closes without a single transaction anywhere in it. The studio is independent and self-funded, and the site you are reading is the whole of what we publish.
The name came before anything else. It doesn't translate, doesn't abbreviate, and doesn't nod to a place or a person — which is precisely why we kept it. An invented word left us free to build an identity from scratch, and what we chose was rock. Drive through any canyon country at the end of the day and the walls read like a stack of lines: pale caprock at the top, ochre beneath it, then rust, then a band of dusty mauve, then the deep terracotta shadow at the floor. Those layers set our colours, our dividers, and the stepped edges you'll find on every panel here.
We build for adults, aged 18 and over, who enjoy the rhythm of a card game and have no interest in risking anything to feel it. That audience is geographically nowhere in particular. We don't frame the site around one country, we don't tailor it to one market's expectations, and we don't chase promotions that only make sense somewhere specific.
One game: Strata Draw, a blackjack table written in plain JavaScript. The deck is genuinely shuffled each round, the hand values are calculated properly including the Ace's dual value, and the dealer follows a rule we publish on the page rather than hide in code. If you want to know why a hand resolved the way it did, the answer is printed a few centimetres away from the cards.
We would rather maintain one table well than list twenty. When Strata Draw stops being the best version of itself, we'll fix it before we consider building anything else.
Sellentrake is a social casino and only that. We take no wagers, handle no money, and hold no player funds. Virtual coins cannot be purchased at any price, and they cannot be turned into cash, credit, merchandise, or entry into anything. There is no loyalty ladder that unlocks by spending, because there is nothing to spend. Nothing on this site is a real-money gambling product, and nothing here is presented as preparation for one.
We also don't build accounts. There is no sign-up, no password, and no profile, which means there is very little about you for us to hold. What little we do collect is described on our privacy page.
Questions, bug reports, and complaints about the shade of ochre all go to the same place — the support page has the details, and a person reads every message.
